The skipper of New Zealand, Kane Williamson’s, blazing form continues as he smashed his third consecutive century in the NZ vs. SA 2nd Test. The Kiwi batter already has two tons to his name in this series already, with both coming in the 1st Test.
The century of Williamson at Seddon Park, Hamilton, came off 203 deliveries. He has currently scored nine fours and two sixes. This is his 7th hundred in seven games and his 32nd Test ton overall.
The hosts managed to steady the game after surviving a scary start, as they are chasing 267 runs to win the 2nd Test. Devon Conway perished after managing to make just 17 runs. Tom Latham managed to stick around for quite a bit but was ultimately dismissed for 30 runs. Southpaw Rachin Ravindra couldn’t replicate his first-test heroics as Piedt struck.
Earlier on Day 3, Kyle Bedingham scored his maiden century to lift a rookie South African from a precarious position. South Africa lost their last six wickets for just 33 runs and were bowled out for 235. New Zealand ended the day at 40 for 1, needing another 227 runs to win the match and the series.
