During RR’s dramatic game against MI, Sandeep Sharma pulled off a screamer of a catch to eliminate Suryakumar Yadav.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) match between the Rajasthan Royals and the Mumbai Indians on Sunday lived up to its hype as the 1000th match in the tournament’s history and then some. The game featured a multitude of highlights, all of which culminated with Tim David hitting three consecutive sixes and led MI to victory in the Wankhede Stadium record pursuit.

Among the highlight moments was fast bowler Sandeep Sharma’s sensational catch to stop the dangerous Suryakumar Yadav’s innings. MI were boosted by a hazardous stand between Suryakumar and Tilak Varma as they chased a target of 213. Suryakumar was on 55 off 29 balls when he skied an attempted pull shot from Trent Boult. Sandeep chased the ball, racing back from shirt fine leg, got the catch while on the move with his arms fully extended, and managed to hang on to it after falling and sliding across the grass.

Has he gotten rid of the fielder? Oh what a catch, in my opinion! On-air analyst Harsha Bhogle called the series of events and declared, “This is going to be one of the catches of the season.” One of the top catches in tournament history, much alone the entire season, according to the IPL, which tweeted a video of the incredible capture.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored his first century and nearly completed the innings, helped Rajasthan Royals to a score of 212/7. In 62 balls, he scored 124 runs, which is more than half of his team’s total runs. That wasn’t enough, though, as MI successfully completed the highest run chase in Wankhede Stadium IPL match history. Although Suryakumar’s half-century was their highest total, players like Cameron Green and Tilak Varma also contributed significantly.
