Haris Rauf’s central contract has been terminated by the PCB after he withdrew from Pakistan’s just finished Test series in Australia.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has terminated bowler Haris Rauf’s central contract due to his refusal to join the Pakistan Test squad for the series against Australia Down Under.

The pacer’s central contract has been canceled effective December 1, 2023, following a rigorous hearing procedure conducted by the PCB committee. Furthermore, Rauf will not be granted a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) to participate in international T20 leagues until June 30, 2024.

The pacer was given an opportunity to react by PCB management on January 30, 2024, but his statement did not meet the standards of natural justice, according to the press release.

According to the PCB, a sportsperson’s greatest honor and privilege is to represent Pakistan in competition. According to the press release, “it is a material breach of the central contract to refuse to be a member of Pakistan’s Test squad in the absence of any medical report or valid reason.”

The treatment of Mujeeb ur Rahman, Naveen-ul-Haq, and Fazalhaq Farooqi by Afghanistan is very similar.
