Following his victory in the MCG Test, Mitchell Starc keeps his word and gives shoes to a young fan

Pacer Mitchell Starc brightened the day of a small fan on Friday after Australia’s victory over Pakistan in the second Test in Melbourne by giving him his cricket shoes.

Notably, Starc vowed to give his shoes to a spectator if the Australian team managed to remove all ten Pakistani wickets by the conclusion of the day during the lunch break. Luckily for the spectator, the hosts prevailed by 79 runs after being successful in doing so.

Cricket Australia (CA) published a video on X, Previously on Twitter, this image shows Starc signing and giving his sneakers to a child after the Boxing Day Test. To show his appreciation, Starc took a selfie with the young admirer.

Australia’s skipper Pat Cummins was the star of the show as the hosts defeated Pakistan by 79 runs to grab a commanding 2-0 lead in the three-match series thanks to his 10-wicket performance in the encounter.
Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc both claimed four wickets, Josh Hazlewood also claimed significant wickets in the Test victory, and Cummins claimed five wickets in each of the two innings.
Sydney Cricket Ground will host the third and final Test of the three-match series from January 3–7, 2024. David Warner, the Australian opener, will also be retiring from the longest format after the SCG Test.
