At the Indian Veteran Premier League, Suresh Raina will lead the UP battalion

Former IPLchampions Rajat Bhatia and former Australian all-rounder Dan Christian will be playing alongside Raina in VVIP Uttar Pradesh.

Suresh Raina, a former Indian cricketer, is poised to reignite his passion for the game when he dons the yellow jersey once more, this time for his local team VVIP Uttar Pradesh in the inaugural Indian Veteran Premier League (IVPL). Raina’s preparation to lead VVIP Uttar Pradesh is a return to his roots, as he recalls his formative years when he first batted for his home state. Raina, widely considered as one of India’s finest T20 players, is excited to be a part of the IVPL, where he will demonstrate his explosive batting abilities and captaincy for VVIP Uttar Pradesh.

“I am overjoyed to be a member of the Indian Veteran Premier League, where I will play for Team VVIP Uttar Pradesh. Raina remarked in a release, “This is an opportunity to play with veteran cricketers again.”

Rajat Bhatia, former IPL winner, and Dan Christian, renowned Australian all-rounder, will join Raina at VVIP Uttar Pradesh. With their combined expertise and skill, the team is prepared to create a strong mark in the IVPL, which will be held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun from February 23–March 3, 2024.

The IVPL, organized by the Board for Veteran Cricket in India (BVCI) and managed by 100 Sports, will feature veterans like as Sehwag, Munaf Patel, Suresh Raina, Rajat Bhatia, Chris Gayle, Praveen Kumar, Yusuf Pathan, Herschelle Gibbs, and many more.

Shri Praveen Tyagi, Acting President of the BVCI and Chairman of the IVPL, stated, “The senior players would breathe new vigor into senior Cricket in India. We welcome Suresh Raina to the IVPL family, and I’m confident fans will be delighted to see him back on the field.”

The teams competing are VVIP Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan Legends, Red Carpet Delhi, Chhattisgarh Warriors, Telangana Tigers, and Mumbai Champions. Each squad is a talent powerhouse, with cricket great and regional stars joining forces to relive their passion for the game. Each team will have four or five renowned players from throughout the world.
