Michael Bracewell, who has been out of the country after surgery, won’t be able to fly back for a few weeks.

A New Zealand all-rounder, Michael Bracewell, ruptured his Achilles during the current T20 Blast in England and will now be out for around 6 to 8 months. On Thursday, June 15, Bracwell will undergo surgery in the UK, starting a protracted recovery process that will keep the ODI player of the year from competing in the forthcoming ODI World Cup 2023 in India.

The Kiwis are now dealing with two injuries. As a talismanic batter, Kane Williamson will also likely miss the ODI World Cup 2023 because of an injury that he sustained in the IPL.

New Zealand Coach Gary Stead said, “Firstly, you always feel for the player when injury strikes, especially when it means they will have to miss a world event.”

He further said that “Michael’s a great team man and has had a fantastic 15 months for the Black Caps since his international debut. We’ve seen his exceptional skills in all three facets of the game, and he was shaping up to be an important player for us at the World Cup in India.
