Since he chose to forego his Ranji Trophy responsibilities in order to get ready for the T20 league, Ishan has been the subject of heated discussion. Everything as a player and as a human, playing international sports is quite difficult; it is not as simple as people may believe,” Pollard stated during the news conference.
Ishan’s future in the Indian and MI squads could be jeopardized if he fails to fire, given the upcoming mega auction next year, but Pollard said he expects big things from the left-hander.
“For him, again, he did not score tonight, so we can look at all sorts of different things, but I said it’s a long tournament, he is an experienced guy within our setup, and we expect big things from Ishan.”He’s in a good place, he’s been practicing well, and he’s performing fairly well, so maybe in the next few of games, you’ll see tremendous performances from him, and you’ll all continue to praise his brains when he does,” Pollard said.
