Watch: Not pleased with In opposition to the jeering Wankhede crowd, Virat Kohli stands up for Hardik Pandya

In the IPL 2024 match between the Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Virat Kohli was not pleased with the Wankhede Stadium crowd’s jeering of Hardik Pandya when he came out to bat.

Hardik Pandya was jeered by the fans at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday during the IPL 2024 match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Virat Kohli was not thrilled about it. The choice to name Hardik as the Mumbai Indians captain before of the tournament instead of Rohit Sharma was not warmly accepted by the supporters, and after three straight losses, there were those fans who had jeered Hardik in the past. The crowd’s hostile response, meanwhile, did not impress Kohli, who motioned for them to clap for the MI captain instead. The move gained immediate popularity, with people applauding him for his intervention. The first time Hardik took the field during the RCB innings, the fans jeered him, but the least amount of support was shown when he came to bat following Rohit’s removal. The crowd enthusiastically applauded Rohit’s every shot, while Hardik struggled to get the same level of support.

Reacting quickly, Kohli stopped the fans’ jeers and reminded them that Hardik was a member of the Indian cricket team in a video that quickly went viral on social media.
The outcome was nearly immediate as the MI captain answered the chants of “Hardik, Hardik” from a section of the crowd with a first-ball six off Will Jacks.
With five wickets from Jasprit Bumrah and outstanding batting displays from Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan, the Mumbai Indians easily defeated the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
