Regarding his performance, Virat Kohli fell short of the supporters’ expectations as he was removed for 21 off 20 balls against CSK.

At Chepauk, Chennai Super Kings defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six wickets on Friday to kick up their IPL 2024 campaign. The occasion was unique for CSK supporters as they saw the great MS Dhoni return to action, albeit not as captain. Ruturaj Gaikwad, the youthful opener, took over as captain after Dhoni resigned ahead of the opening game. Aside from him, the other player who had everyone’s attention was ace batsman Virat Kohli of the Royal Bengal Tigers, who was making his comeback to the game after an almost two-month hiatus.

Known for his merciless batting, Kohli also has a fun side that was on display in the first game against CSK. The gorgeous 35-year-old batter was spotted dancing on the field during the mid-innings break.

With his peculiar dance to Thalapathy Vijay’s popular song, Appadi Podu, Kohli delighted the audience and a few of his colleagues.

Regarding his performance, the star batsman fell short of the crowd’s expectations when he was bowled against CSK for 21 off 20 balls.

With no home losses to RCB since 2008, CSK maintained their impressive record.

A good batting track saw RCB restricted to 173 for six, mostly thanks to Mustafizur’s best-ever IPL figures of 4/29 in four overs. The visitors’ only hope came from a 95-run sixth wicket stand off 50 balls between Anuj Rawat (48 off 25 balls) and Dinesh Karthik (38 not out off 26 balls).

A rusty Dube (34 off 28 balls) was forced to complete some quick doubles by Jadeja (25 not out off 17 balls), who brought his wealth of experience to bear just when things may have become problematic in the run chase. The chase was completed in 18.4 overs. As the chase came to an end quickly, Dube also became more and more comfortable in Jadeja’s company.
