According to PTI, Roger Binny has been asked to respond in writing to the accusations of conflict of interest made against him by BCCI ethics officer Vineet Saran by December 20.

Board president Roger Binny has received a conflict of interest notification from BCCI ethics officer Vineet Saran. According to information obtained by PTI, Saran has requested that Binny respond in writing to the accusations of conflict of interest made against him by December 20. Sanjeev Gupta, the complainant, claims that Binny is conflicted because his daughter-in-law works for Star Sports, the home of Indian cricket’s domestic media rights.

“Please be advised that the Ethics Officer, BCCI has received a complaint under Rule 39(2)(b) of the Regulations and Regulations of BCCI alleging that you have engaged in “conflict of interest” by violating Rules 38 (1) I and 38 (2) of the aforementioned rules.

“You have until December 20, 2022, to provide your written response to the complaint that is attached. A properly drafted affidavit must be used to support the aforementioned response “In the notice dated November 21, Saran wrote.

World Cup champion Binny took over for former India captain Sourav Ganguly as the 36th president of the BCCI in October. The 67-year-old represented India in 27 Test matches and 20 ODIs.
