The fifth test between India and England began on March 7, and Rohit Sharma touched down in Dharamshala via helicopter.
Days before the fifth and final Test match between India and England began at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, captain Rohit Sharma made a spectacular arrival in Dharamshala. Rohit was spotted taking out in a helicopter from Dharamasala, when India’s last international match before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season begins on March 7.
Regarding the series, the hosts have already established an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match format, therefore the outcome of the last game won’t have much of an impact on the series’ overall outcome. That being said, there will be World Test Championship (WTC) points up for grabs, and those points will determine who gets to participate in the 2023–25 cycle’s main match.
Jonny Bairstow and Ravichandran Ashwin will play their 100th Test match together in the series finale. Only four players will be playing their 100th Test together in this scenario. The first time this happened was in 2000, when Michael Atherton and Alec Stewart reached the landmark while playing for England at Old Trafford against the West Indies.
The second instance had not just two, but three players participating in their 100th Test match: Jacques Kallis of South Africa, Shaun Pollock of New Zealand, and Stephen Fleming of New Zealand all achieved this milestone during the 2006 South Africa vs. New Zealand match at Centurion. Apart from these two incidents, Michael Clarke of Australia and Alastair Cook of England also shared their 100th Test match during the 2013 Ashes series.
