Gautam Gambhir succeeded Rahul Dravid as Team India’s head coach. According to Rishabh Pant, one major alteration has occurred in the team since then.

The Sri Lanka Tour marked the beginning of the Gautam Gambhir era in Indian cricket. India lost the ODI series but won the T20I series. After that, the Indian cricket team had a lengthy rest before facing Bangladesh in a Test series that begins on September 19. Gambhir’s real test will begin with that series. In the upcoming years, Rishabh Pant is going to be an important cog in India’s machinery. Pant and Gambhir both represented Delhi in cricket at the national level. Pant discussed the changes brought about by Gautam Gambhir in Indian cricket during an interview.

“What is the biggest change that can happen under Gautam Gambhir and how it can take Indian cricket forward?” the anchor asked Pant.

“I feel Rahul bhai was very balanced as a human being and as a coach. It could be both good and bad, because in cricket there can be positives. This is upon the individuals whether to focus on the positives and negatives, and it depends on where individuals want to focus. Gauti bhai (Gambhir) is more aggressive, he’s very one-sided about the fact that you have to win. But you need to find the right balance and improve. This is the best part of international cricket,” Pant said on Jio Cinema. In the impending two-Test series against Bangladesh, Rishabh Pant cautioned against playing them lightly and emphasized the necessity for India to keep getting better in order to stay ahead of the competition. Bangladesh, who recently defeated Pakistan 2-0 at Rawalpindi, will take on Rohit Sharma’s team in the first Test beginning on September 19 in Chennai and then go to Kanpur.

India will play three Tests at home against New Zealand in October and November after the series against Bangladesh, for a total of ten Tests in the next five months. After that, they will travel to Australia for the five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy.Pant said to Jio Cinema, “Asian countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka perform well in Asian conditions because they are accustomed to the wickets.”

The Indian cricket team just considers how we can raise our own game and our own standards. Every day, we try to play with the same intensity and give it our all, no matter who is in the opposition,” he stated.

Pant stated that as team margins in international cricket are shrinking, no series should be taken lightly.”You can never take any series lightly in international cricket, so pressure will always be present. The difference between winning and losing is quite narrow, and these days, it’s also not that big between international teams, he claimed.

Pant stated that participating in the Duleep Trophy prior to an extensive Test cricket season will provide players with valuable match experience, and young domestic cricketers will gain from the presence of international stars.
