In the Super 4 round, Indian spinners are in control of their game against Sri Lanka. Ravindra Jadeja, India’s left-arm spinner, has taken the most wickets at the Asia Cup. Jadeja only needed one wicket to pass former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan as the tournament’s all-time leading wicket-taker. Team India relied heavily on their spinners after scoring only 213 runs. The wicket was going square, and the Indian batting lineup was being tormented by the Sri Lankan spinner.

Ravindra Jadeja sent Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka back into the pavilion to bring his score to 23 and pass Irfan Pathan. Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan took 22 wickets in 12 Asia Cup matches. Pathan participated in this competition in 2004, 2008, and 2012. Ravindra Jadeja has appeared in 18 Asia Cup games so far. He is also the tournament’s leading wicket-taker among the current Asia Cup 2023 players. Shakib Al Hasan comes in second with 21 wickets in 17 games.

Muthiah Muralitharan, a Sri Lankan off-spinner, is the tournament’s best wicket-taker. Murali has 30 wickets in 24 games. Lasith Malinga is second with 29 wickets in 14 games, while Ajantha Mendis is third with 26 wickets in only 8 games. Ravindra Jadeja will be seeking to add to his two wickets so far in the tournament and will have another chance against Bangladesh on September 15th and then in the Final if India qualify.

Ravindra Jadeja is competing in his fifth Asia Cup after making his debut in Sri Lanka in 2010. He is also nearing the end of another chapter in his career. Jadeja needed three more wickets before entering this game to get 200 ODI wickets. He took two against Sri Lanka and needs one more to join the elite list of Indian cricketers with 200 ODI wickets. Dunith Wellalage of Sri Lanka took five wickets in the first innings.
