to boost fitness, according to PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi

PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has announced that Pakistan cricketers will attend a 10-day training camp with the national army to boost their fitness ahead of the T20 World Cup.Mohsin Naqvi, chairman of the PCB, stated that Pakistan players will exercise with the army in March and April to improve their fitness levels. On Tuesday, March 5, the chief briefed a few players at a hotel in Islamabad about the 10-day training camp following the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Naqvi expressed disappointment with Pakistan’s batters’ six-hitting ability and emphasized the importance of strength and fitness.

When I was watching the game in Lahore, I don’t think any of you struck a six into the stands. When I saw a six like that, I assumed it was hit by a foreign player. I’ve asked the board to devise a strategy for increasing each player’s fitness level. “You’ll have to make a proper effort for that,” Naqvi explained.

Pakistan has a packed calendar ahead of the T20 World Cup, which will be staged in the West Indies and the UAE, as well as bilateral series. It’s also worth noting that the second half of the camp will coincide with the holy month of Ramzan, during which players will fast and practice rituals.

“Next up is New Zealand, followed by Ireland, England, and the T20 World Cup.” I pondered, ‘When will we train?’ But there wasn’t time. However, we have discovered a window in which we have organized a camp in Kakul (military academy) from March 25 to April 8. The Pakistan Army will be involved in your training, and hopefully they will assist you,” Naqvi explained.

Naqvi further stated that players should prefer playing for Pakistan over everything else. The PCB recently canceled Haris Rauf’s central contract, prohibiting him from competing in abroad franchise T20 tournaments until June 30, 2024.
