Arjun Tendulkar made his IPL debut two years after he was first bought by MI in the IPL 2021 auction.

Arjun Tendulkar’s long wait to play for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League ended on Saturday when he was named in the playing 11 for the match against the Kolkata Knight Riders. A number of fans, farmer cricketers, and experts took to social media to share their blessings and suggestions for the young uncapped Indian all-rounder. Even the King of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan, took to Twitter to share his views on the depth of Arjun Tendulkar. SRK only had good things to say about the development, despite the fact that KKR lost the match against Mumbai Indians.
Shahrukh Khan tweeted, “As competitive as this IPL may be… but when u see a friend’s son, #ArjunTendulkar, take the field, it is a matter of such happiness and joy.” Wish Arjun all the best, and @sachin_rt, what a proud moment! Wow!.”
The 23-year-old all-rounder opens the bowling attack for the Mumbai Indians. He gave away 17 runs without taking a wicket and was hit for 6 and 4 by VenkateshIyer, who is the batsman for Kolkata Night Riders.
Following their debut in the 2023 IPL season, Arjun and his father, Sachin Tendulkar, were spotted during the team’s training session on Saturday before the game and also in the team’s dig out on Sunday. They became the first father-son pair to feature in the 15-year history of the IPL, and that too for the same team. Sachin played for Mumbai Indians for six years, between 2008 and 2013, and Arjun was picked by the five-time IPL champions for the first time during the 2021 auction at his base price of Rs 20 lakh.
Although Wankhede Stadium is the home ground for Arjun and the Mumbai Indians, the young cricketer is no longer associated with the domestic side of Mumbai as he moved to Goa in the second half of 2022 in order to pursue regular playing time in the domestic circuit.
