Neeraj Chopra will compete at the Doha Diamond League competition on May 10 in preparation for the Federation Cup.

Neeraj Chopra will compete in India after a long time, as the defending Olympic champion prepares to defend. Neeraj Chopra will return to India after a long absence as the incumbent Olympic champion prepares to defend his Tokyo Olympics title at the Paris Olympics, which will take place from July 26 to August 11, this year.

Neeraj will compete in the 27th National Federation Cup athletics competitions in Odisha, which will take place from May 12 to May 15 at Bhubaneswar’s Kalinga Stadium.

This will be Chopra’s first domestic competition since the 2021 Federation Cup. His Tokyo Olympics championship will be defended at the Paris Olympics, which take place this year from July 26 to August 11.

Prior to the Federation Cup, the World Championships, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games champions will compete in the Doha Diamond League on May 10. Neeraj will compete in the men’s javelin throw event in Doha alongside fellow countryman Kishore Jena.

Neeraj had already spoken about his season aims.”I want to be in the best possible shape for the Paris Olympics.” So far, my training sessions have gone very well. I constantly emphasize fitness, as well as strength and technique. This is the best I’ve felt in a long time, but I must emphasize that training and competing are not the same. “When you wear the India jersey, the feeling is different; the josh (energy) is incredible,” Neeraj told SAI Media.

When asked about the elusive 90-metre milestone, the 26-year-old Neeraj reiterated that ‘distance doesn’t matter to him.

“It’s important to me to maintain peak physical condition, maintain consistency throughout the season, and perform well on crucial days.” I believe that one must constantly improve since there are faults to be corrected and because competition is getting fiercer everywhere. If you believe you have completed the task, the road will close, he warned.
Neeraj said, “I have won medals in two World Championships, threw my personal best (89.94 meters at Stockholm), won a dream Diamond League title, and even defended my gold at the Asian Games.” He was speaking about how his performance in Tokyo showed that his preparation for international competitions was going well.
