The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) opposes giving players a notice of clearance (NOC) due to their demanding schedules.
According to sources who spoke with Geo News, Pakistan’s top three players, Babar Azam, Mohammed Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi, are unlikely to receive a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for playing in the forthcoming Global T20 Canada. In order to prevent any conflicts with Pakistan’s international calendar, the sources told Geo News that the players will not receive a nod of clearance despite the league schedule. The two-match Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh will begin on August 21. Play in the Canadian League begins on July 25 and runs until August 11.
players that play in all formats will not receive the certificate in accordance with regulations, which is another reason for the probable refusal of the NOC. Owing to the players’ demanding schedules, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is against giving players NOCs.
Rejecting an invitation to participate in The Hundred last week was also a setback for star pacer Naseem Shah. According to the sources, the decision to refuse the NOC was made as a precaution after looking over the Pakistani cricket player’s application, which Geo News covered.Naseem, who plays for Pakistan in all three forms, was injured and faced fitness issues last year, therefore the sources claimed that his application was rejected in order to protect him from further harm.
In addition to the three stars, Muhammad Amir, Muhammad Nawaz, Asif Ali, and Iftikhar Ahmed are also contracted for Global T20 Canada.
The players would receive the NOC in accordance with specific standards, according to PCB chairman Naqvi’s statement earlier this week. Participants that meet the requirements will receive the NOC.
Performance and fitness will determine whether players advance. A player who does not meet the requirements is not welcome. Mohsin Naqvi, the PCB chief, added, “There will also be no compromise on discipline.”Star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi may not be available for the series, as Pakistan’s red-ball head coach Jason Gillispie has already alluded to in their pivotal World Test Championship matches against Bangladesh.
After getting married a year ago, Shaheen and Ansha are expecting their first child. He might miss the Test series against Bangladesh the following month as a result.
“Shaheen’s childbirth may cause her to miss Bangladesh Test matches.” If he wishes to be with his wife till then, we may give him [some] rest,” Pakistan’s red-ball coach, Jason Gillispie, stated last week.
