KL Rahul sustained an injury during the Lucknow Super Giants’ IPL 2023 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

KL Rahul of the Lucknow Super Giants is likely to miss the rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after suffering a significant thigh injury during the team’s previous game against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The PTI can also reveal that experienced bowler Jaydev Unadkat has a significant shoulder injury and has been ruled out of the IPL. It is expected that the BCCI Sports Science & Medical Team would be working against the clock to get senior batter-keeper Rahul fit for the World Test Championship final in London from June 7 to 11. Rahul sustained an injury to his right thigh while running towards the boundary in response to a Faf du Plessis cover shot off Marcus Stoinis’ bowling.

“KL is currently in Lucknow with the team, but he will leave the camp on Thursday after watching the game against CSK on Wednesday.” His scans will be performed in Mumbai at a BCCI-approved medical institution. “BCCI will handle both his and Jaydev’s cases,” a top BCCI source familiar with the situation told PTI on condition of anonymity.

The insider also verified that no scans have been performed as of yet.

“When someone suffers an injury like this, there is a significant amount of pain and swelling in and around the area.” Only once the edoema has subsided for 24 to 48 hours may the scan be performed.

“Once the scans determine the extent of injury, the BCCI medical team will determine the next steps,” the source stated.

Even in the case of Unadkat, it is known that things are not looking well at the time.

“It’s a good thing Jaydev doesn’t have a dislocation, but his shoulder isn’t in great shape, and he won’t be able to play IPL this season.” “We also don’t know if he’ll be ready for the WTC final,” he said.
