The Kiwis finished the chase with 43 balls to spare. Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell scored 78 and 89 points for New Zealand, respectively. Bangladesh were in trouble from the start, as Trent Boult and Lockie Ferguson had them reeling at 56 for four in the 13th over, after Litton Das was dismissed on the first ball of the encounter.Shakib Al Hasan (40 off 51 balls) then had a 96-run fifth-wicket stand with veteran teammate Mushfiqur Rahim (66 off 75 balls) as Bangladesh reached 156 in the 30th over, when Ferguson sent back the former to take his third wicket. Matt Henry then replaced Mushfiqur in order to close in on Bangladesh.
