Jos Buttler is the best white-ball player to have played for England, according to New England Patriots head coach Brendon McCullum.

Captain Jos Buttler has been praised by England’s new white-ball head coach Brendon Mccullum as the best white-ball player in the history of the team. Interestingly, McCullum, whose contract has been renewed to the end of 2027, has been coaching England’s Test team since June 2022. Most recently, he has also taken on the responsibility of managing the white-ball teams.

McCullum praised England’s white-ball captain recently, praising his outstanding career. He is the best white-ball player to wear the England jersey, according to the former cricketer from New Zealand, who also said that he has nothing more to show.”In my opinion, Jos has had a fantastic career. He is possibly the best white-ball player England has ever had, even if he were to retire tomorrow. McCullum told press media, “He has nothing left to prove.”With an incredible 59 in the championship match, Buttler—who has been among the best limited overs players in recent years—was instrumental in England’s victory at the 2019 ODI World Cup. Eoin Morgan gave way to him once more, and in 2022 he guided the squad to their second T20 World Cup triumph.

In order to start a new era of supremacy in international cricket, England is now going through a transitional phase following its failure to defend their ODI and T20 World Cup titles. They are hoping to bring in some new talent.

McCullum also recognized the necessity of adding some new players to the national team and England’s “thirst for change.”

“I believe that people are itching for change. The T20 and one-day squads have had amazing success. It has to be revitalized and given a boost by some fresh talent, who has likely been influenced by the exact people they will eventually replace, the speaker continued. In January 2025, McCullum will become leadership of the England white-ball team in anticipation of the India tour and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Marcus Trescothick will take over as England’s Interim Head Coach in the interim for their forthcoming series against Australia and their scheduled Caribbean tour later this year. Following a five-match ODI series starting on September 19, England will play Australia in a three-match T20I series starting on September 11. Jos Buttler is out of the England T20I team because of a calf injury; Phil Salt will captain the team instead.
