Jay Shah has been chosen to lead the International Cricket Council (ICC) going forward. He will take over as head of the company on December 1st, replacing Greg Barclay. Since there was no nomination made against him, the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was elected without opposition.

Shah will lead the ICC at the youngest age, at 35. With the opportunity to serve an additional three years, he will occupy office for a tenure of three years. Shah has held the position of BCCI since 2019, but he will now have to give it up.

The International Criminal Court commented: “Shah’s election marks a new chapter for the ICC as it seeks to expand the game’s reach and continue its evolution on the global stage.”
