Due to a doping violation, Indian javelin thrower Shivpal Singh has been barred from competition until October 2025.

He later tested positive for the prohibited chemical methandienone, a performance-enhancing steroid, according to the Olympics.com.

Shivpal Singh was given suspension by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA). The 27-year-old will not be able to work until October 2025 because of the prohibitions.

The athlete from Uttar Pradesh won a silver medal at the 2019 Asian Championships with a throw of 86.23 metres, which was a personal best. The World Military Games of 2019 were also won by him.
