Due to a hamstring problem, KL Rahul has been sidelined since May 2023.
KL After being included in India’s starting lineup for the highly anticipated Asia Cup Super 4 match against Pakistan in Colombo, Rahul is ready to make his comeback. Shreyas Iyer was replaced in the starting XI by Rahul, who had been sidelined with a hamstring injury since May 2023. Mohammed Shami was also replaced by Jasprit Bumrah. This comes following rumours that Rahul will take Ishan Kishan’s spot in the starting XI, who is currently in fine form. In the group round match against Pakistan that was abandoned due to weather last week, Kishan scored 82.
“I want to take first strike. Although there will be a struggle up front, our confidence is increased by how well we all batted the last time. We value every game, but we must concentrate on one thing at a time. (On rain delays) That’s just the way sport is; it gave us plenty of time to get ready, and now we’ll try to perform well. Bumrah is back, and there is one forced substitution: KL Rahul replaces Shreyas Iyer due to a back spasm, according to Rohit, who called the toss.
Rahul will miss the group stage matches against Pakistan and Nepal owing to a minor ache, India head coach Rahul Dravid announced prior to the commencement of the Asia Cup.
Rahul, though, joined the group before the Super 4 match.
