IND vs AUS: Cameron Green is likely to miss the Nagpur Test due to a fractured finger.

The first Test is scheduled to start on February 9.

Cameron Green broke his finger in the Boxing Day Test against South Africa in 2022 and has been out since. He is currently recovering from his injury and will most likely miss the first Test against India, which is set to start on February 9 in Nagpur.

According to reports, he did not bat during Australia’s practise session at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, but he was seen doing some fitness training. The team’s management has taken a cautious approach to avoid aggravating his injury.

Meanwhile, Australia’s vice-captain Steve Smith has confirmed that Green is still not fully fit and has yet to face fast bowlers in the nets. If Green is ruled out, Australia may have to play an extra batter and four specialist bowlers. In that case, either Matt Renshaw or Peter Handscomb could make the starting XI.

“I don’t believe he is” (going to play). He hasn’t even faced fast bowlers yet, in my opinion. So I’m guessing he won’t play, but who knows. I’m not entirely sure. We’ll have to wait and see. But I believe it is unlikely.” Smith said
