With the intention of “transforming the landscape of football education” and development in India, German goalkeeping legend Oliver Kahn opened his academy there. Pro 10 in Maharashtra and he have partnered together. With an emphasis on developing players into well-rounded athletes, the Oliver Kahn Academy seeks to establish itself as the centre for comprehensive football instruction. It aims to open academies all throughout the nation in association with educational institutions, sports academies, and football teams.

Additionally, there will be goalkeeping academies built around India.

There is a lot of undeveloped talent in the nation, in Kahn’s opinion.

Football is a sport with a lot of promise in India. To advance football in our nation, he added in a statement, “we need top-notch facilities, a well-structured curriculum, and appropriate football instruction.”

“Our goal is to make India a better-playing nation, and I am confident that this country has the potential to flourish on the global football stage.”

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) president, Kalyan Chaubey, greeted Kahn upon his arrival in India earlier on Tuesday.

“Had an absolute honour in welcoming Mr. @OliverKahn to India,” he had written on X (formerly Twitter).

“We discussed and looked at several development-related topics in our casual #IndianFootball conversation, including the possibility of establishing a goalkeeping academy. I hope his time in India is enjoyable.” When Kahn played his final match for Bayern Munich against Mohun Bagan at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata in 2008, the German team won 3-0. That was Kahn’s last trip to India.
