Fans are buzzing about Rohit Sharma and Akash Madhwal’s conversation before the final over of the IPL 2024 match between PBKS and MI.

On Thursday, the Mumbai Indians won a thrilling final-over encounter against the Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. While Mumbai’s total of 192/7 appeared to be plenty for Punjab, heroic performances by teenage batsmen Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma brought the game too close for comfort. With power-hitter Kagiso Rabada in the middle, Punjab were still in the game, needing 12 runs to win, when MI’s former captain Rohit Sharma opted to come in.

Rohit could be seen in an intense debate with MI pacer Akash Madhwal, with skipper Hardik Pandya also present, in a video that has gone viral on social media.

Hardik contributed to the conversation about field location, but it seemed that the banter between Rohit and Akash was the main focus.

The conversation paid off, as Rabada was run out trying to swipe a double on the very first ball, guaranteeing the win. PBKS lost the match by 9 runs after being all out for 183 runs as a result of his ejection.
Due to his three-wicket performance in the game, Jasprit Bumrah, the star bowler for the Mumbai Indians, was named player of the match. Bumrah acknowledged following the match that the match was too close for MI’s comfort.
“The game was quite close. Significantly closer than we anticipated. Naturally, you want to react when the ball moves in a certain way. The ball swings two overs in this configuration. Test cricket is what I play when I want to bowl more. That satisfies my needs. Due to time constraints and impact player rules, bowlers may find this format to be a little challenging. The batting order gets more deeper. But you have no control over that.
