Cheteshwar Pujara, a star Indian batsman, scored 107 runs in 79 balls for his county team Sussex in the Royal London One Day Cup in Birmingham after scoring 22 runs in one over. Pujara’s innings was ineffective, though, as Sussex missed out on a chance to catch Warwickshire’s 310 for 6 on Friday by four runs.
Pujara, who has been India’s go-to batsman in Test matches, looked menacing as he hammered three fours and a six off medium bowler Liam Norwell in the 45th over to keep Sussex in the chase.
PANDYA SNAPS THESE THREE WICKETS.
Krunal Pandya, a spin all-rounder who showed up for Warwickshire, was instrumental in his team’s victory as he atoned for his two-ball duck with a three-wicket haul. Pandya returned with figures of 10-0-51-3 after taking the wickets of Ali Orr (81), Tom Clark (30), and Delray Rawlins (11). Earlier, Warwickshire reached a 300+ total thanks to the 114 that Robert Yates scored off 111 balls, along with scores of 76 and 58 from Will Rhodes and Michael Burgess.
