with the entire season taking place in India

The final is probably scheduled for May 26 because the T20 World Cup starts a few days after the lucrative league ends.Arun Dhumal, the chairman of the Indian Premier League, told PTI on Tuesday that the eagerly awaited competition is scheduled to start on March 22 and will take place exclusively within the nation, even with the general elections in the same month. For this reason, the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League schedule has not yet been released. The elections are anticipated to take place in April and May. Talking to PTI, Dhumal stated that the roster for the remaining games will be set after the general election dates are published, with the first 15 days of the calendar being announced.

It is anticipated that the Lok Sabha election dates will be revealed early in the next month.

“We plan to begin the tournament on March 22. We will initially make public the preliminary schedule, and we are collaborating closely with the government agencies. India will host the competition for its entirety,” Dhumal declared.

The IPL was hosted entirely outside of South Africa in 2009, and because of the general elections, part of the 2014 tournament was held in the United Arab Emirates.

But in 2019, the competition took place in India in spite of the elections.

The T20 World Cup starts a few days after the lucrative league ends, therefore May 26 is most likely the date of the final.

On June 5, India will play their first World Cup match in New York against Ireland. On June 1, the USA and Canada will square off in the ICC showcase match.

As usual, the IPL opener will include the winners and runners-up from the previous season—in this case, the Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans.

Australian pacer Mitchell Starc became the most expensive player in league history when he was acquired by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 24.75 crore during the players’ auction for the 2024 season, which took place in December of last year.
