Santosh Kashyap, a former international player, took over as head coach of the national senior women’s team on Monday, after being chosen by the All India Football Federation (AIFF).

Santosh Kashyap took over as the national senior women’s team’s head coach on Monday from former international player Chaoba Devi, according to an announcement made by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). The first task for Kashyap is to prepare for the SAFF Women’s Championships, which are scheduled for October 17–30 in Kathmandu, Nepal. In order to prepare for the championships, a 29-person team will camp in Goa starting on September 20. Former India international Kashyap has nearly ten years of I-League coaching experience, having managed teams like Mumbai FC, Aizawl FC, and Mohun Bagan.

It’s an honor to coach the national team every time. In an AIFF release, Kashyap expressed his gratitude to the senior members of the federation, the technical committee, the technical department, and AIFF President Shri Kalyan Chaubey for giving him the chance to coach the senior national women’s team.”I am completely confident in the team’s present roster. I am confident in my ability to provide the necessary insight to the team members at the national camp.” Regarding the SAFF Women’s Championships, he stated, “I am aware that our performance in the previous SAFF Championship did not match expectations. But this time, with the correct tactics, strategy, and decision-making abilities, we can reclaim the championship.
