His change from aggressive attacker to small opener might live up to his own expectations, but it’s difficult not to sigh at the possibilities.
The captain of India, Rohit Sharma, has declared his intention to retire from Test cricket.
On Instagram, Rohit posted: “Hi everyone, I want to announce that I’m leaving Test cricket.
“Being able to represent my nation in white has been an amazing honor. I appreciate all of your support and affection over the years. I’ll keep playing in the ODI format for India.
In a statement, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that Rohit will still play for India in the One-Day International (ODI) format even if he is retiring from the longest format of his career.
“Mr. Rohit Sharma’s influence on Indian cricket goes beyond stats and records. In the BCCI release, BCCI President Roger Binny said, “As a player and as a captain, he brought a sense of calm and assurance to the team.””Rohit is a great example of someone who has preserved the best standards of professionalism and sportsmanship, which is fortunate for Indian cricket. In addition to his outstanding playing record, he leaves behind a disciplined and unselfish culture that will motivate generations to come.
