Pant Continues His Ascent To Sixth In Test, Gurbaz Breaks Into Top 10 In ODI

India’s captain Rohit Sharma, like Virat Kohli, dropped five places in the rankings, but he remains in the top ten with 716 points.

Rishabh Pant has risen to sixth place in the latest ICC Rankings, following a stunning century against Bangladesh in his return to Test cricket.

The wicketkeeper-batsman’s performance in the Chennai Test propelled him back into the rankings, with 731 points. Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal moved up to fifth place with 751 points following a strong half-century in the same match.On the other hand, India’s captain Rohit Sharma fell five spots in the rankings, albeit he still ranks in the top ten with 716 points, following two dismal innings. Virat Kohli also slipped five places, slipping from the top ten to 12th.

Kamindu Mendis and Dhananjaya de Silva both improved their batting rankings, rising to 16th and 18th, respectively.

In one-day international cricket, Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Australia’s Travis Head entered the top ten, with Gurbaz rising to eighth place, becoming the first Afghan batter to do so after scoring his seventh ODI century at the age of 23.
