For Tamil Nadu, Senthilnathan participated in 16 List A and 37 First-Class matches. At the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai, he has held the position of Head of Cricket Affairs.

On Tuesday, M. Senthilnathan, a former player from Tamil Nadu (TN) and the captain of India’s under-19 team, was named head coach of the Tamil Nadu senior men’s team for the forthcoming domestic campaign.Senthilnathan will become Tennessee’s third head coach in a row. He takes over for former India pacer L. Balaji, who led the team the previous season. Tanveer Jabbar, who began serving as the batting coach last year, will remain in that position, while T. Kumaran, another former India fast bowler, will serve as the bowling coach.

After winning the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 competition in the 2021–22 season, Tamil Nadu’s senior team last won a championship after a lackluster run in recent years.Senthilnathan, who was an aggressive batter in his playing days and was a member of TN’s final Ranji Trophy-winning team in 1987–88, is now responsible for putting an end to the drought.Helping the TN hitters produce quality pace bowling, particularly when there is support available for the quicks, will be one of the new coach’s biggest responsibilities.

Senthilnathan, who has been the head coach of the MRF Pace Foundation for over ten years, will also need to manage the pacers.
The 56-year-old emphasized that his main goal is to support the squad in playing aggressive cricket.Senthilnathan stated, “I don’t want any player to feel the pressure of playing for his place; we want to play fearless cricket.”

“It’s my responsibility to bring out the best in them and foster an environment where they feel comfortable asking for assistance. Although we aim to excel in every format, the Ranji Trophy is undoubtedly the highest honor. He said, “I want to approach them step by step, but I don’t want to set lofty goals.”
