In order to remain competitive for the 2025 World Test Championship Final, the Asian team will need to reorganize.

India has swiftly focused on their next Test match in Australia in an effort to maintain their hopes of making it to the London ICC World Test Championship Final the following year.

Rohit Sharma’s team’s hopes of making it to the World Test Championship Final for the third time in a row were severely damaged when they lost to New Zealand 3-0 in the series. They now need to win four or more games in Australia to earn a spot at Lord’s next year.Prior to the first Test in Perth on November 22, India was supposed to play India A in a three-day practice match. However, Rohit confirmed that the team has since canceled that match in favor of a match simulation against the same team, which will give their hitters more time in the middle and help them adjust to the Australian conditions.”Look, you know, rather than practice match, we planned a very match simulation kind of a thing with India A,” he stated. “I believe there are instances when we travel with a team of 19 players and we are only given three days to play that practice match. Furthermore, I’m not sure how much work we can accomplish in those three days to have everyone ready.

“So, as a team, we feel more comfortable playing a match simulation where the bowlers can bowl a lot of balls and the batters can spend more time in the middle than playing a practice game because game time is not an issue. We have all been playing a lot of cricket together. Therefore, the key is to spend time in the middle.

“You know, a batter who is out is forced to spend the entire day in the dugout and doesn’t accomplish much batting. On the other hand, in a match simulation, the batters can bat for 50 to 70 balls before we retire them and bring in another player if you think he’s had enough. That’s the plan, then.

“I think this is the greatest way to make the most of our three-day window, which allows the bowlers to get their workload in terms of bowling the most balls in the middle while also giving the hitters plenty of time in the middle. That was the plan, and we’ll stick to it.

“WACA, which is as near to Optus (Stadium), where you have that bounce and carry, is where I believe we’ll be training. Therefore, ideally, we can make the most of those three days and maximize everything that we can from our perspective.”
