India delivered a remarkable performance at the Asian Athletics Championship 2025 held in Gumi, South Korea, securing a total of 14 medals — including 3 gold, 2 silver, and 9 bronze.
Women’s 4x400m Relay Team:
The Indian women’s relay team — comprising Rupal Chaudhary, Subha Venkatesan, Jisna Mathew, and Rajitha Kunja — secured gold with a timing of 3:34.18. This is India’s first gold in the event since 2013.
Avinash Sable:
Avinash Sable won the gold medal in the men’s 3000m steeplechase with a timing of 8:20.92. This is India’s first gold in the event in 36 years — the last was won by Deena Ram in 1989.
Jyothi Yarraji:
Jyothi Yarraji clinched gold in the women’s 100m hurdles with a timing of 12.96 seconds, setting a new championship record. This marks her second consecutive gold in this event at the Asian level.
