In the wake of escalating tensions following recent hostilities between India and Pakistan, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to suspend participation in all upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) events. The ACC is currently headed by Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who also happens to be the country’s Federal Interior Minister. The BCCI’s move is an attempt to further isolate Pakistan in the cricketing world following the recent hostilities between the two nations.
A BCCI source said, “The Indian team cannot play in a tournament organised by the ACC, which is headed by a minister from Pakistan. This is the sentiment of the country.”
