RCB defeated CSK by a slim margin of two runs on Saturday in their IPL 2025 match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The victory sent the team captained by Rajat Patidar to the top of the standings with 16 points from 11 games. RCB set a target of 214 runs thanks to half-centuries from Virat Kohli (62) and Jacob Bethell (55), as well as a late 14-ball 53 not out from Romario Shepherd. To reach 62 off just 33 balls, Kohli hit five sixes and an equal number of fours. The left-handed Bethell put on 97 runs for the first wicket with Kohli, hitting eight fours and two sixes to score 55 off 33 balls.In the final over, Shepherd hit half a dozen sixes to score 33 runs off Khaleel Ahmed’s penultimate delivery, giving him the second-fastest fifty-run total in IPL history. Ravindra Jadeja’s 77 not out off 45 and Ayush Mhatre’s 94 off 48 gave CSK a great chance to defeat RCB in the chase, but they collapsed in the latter stages.
